First drop of MORES sources released on SourceForge

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

A first set of MORE sources has been released under LGPL license on The release comprises the following set of middleware components / services:

Core of the MORE middleware:

The core of the MORE middleware (eu.more.core) is the basis for all projects hosted under MORE Services (MORES).

MORE middleware components:

  • Group Managament Service (GMS):
The Group Management Service (eu.more.gms) is responsible for the administration and management of groups and their members within the MORE Middleware Platform. The Group Management Service provides a decentralised point of contact for MORE services to create, delete, modify, query a specific group, and to send messages to a group.
  • Policy Engine:
A policy framework which provides the logic for the Group Management Service.

MORE Service (MORES):

  • Alarm Services:
The Alarm Services provide a service-based point for user interaction or notification. In contrast to full applications built on top of the MORE middleware framework, the provided alarm services contribute to the overall set of services and enable middleware operators to easily integrate several users into the scenario-specific setup. By connecting alarm services with other services, which implement business logic for data evaluation, user notifications can be implemented. The MORE framework provides several services with configurable business logic for this purpose, e.g. the Group Management Service.
  • Local Storage Service:
The Local Storage Service is a simple utility service which provides the basic means to store data on the local file system. An extended version could provide further means for permanent data storage in SQL databases.

You can browse through the sources and download them from the Subversion repository of the MORES project on Sourceforge. Please note that all components and services are still work in progress and will mature until the end of the IST-MORE project. Hence we currently do not provide any file releases of the MORE middleware & services.

Welcome to MORES

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

This is our first post on the new home of the MORE Middleware Services: MORES.

On this website the MORE project partners will inform you about news and changes around the MORE Middleware. This website is supposed to become the knowledge resource on services built on top of the MORE middleware developed during the IST project Network-centric Middleware for GrOup communication and Resource Sharing across Heterogeneous Embedded Systems (MORE) funded by the European Union during the 6th Framework Programme.
